Short Films - Comedy

Today we’re going to be reviewing some comedy short films. These consist of, “Fired on Mars,” “A Tale of Momentum and Inertia,” “Deupsi,” Napoleon: The Ticket,” “Darrel,” “Fear of Flying,” and “Time for Sushi.” In my personal opinion, Deupsi was the best out of all of them. Even though it is a minute long, it really does portray what a real gas station robbery looks like. The robbers are nervous and end up messing everything up. The shorter one jumps off something, and lands face first onto the counter while the taller one has a revolver and doesn’t know how to use it. He then looks down the barrel and presses the trigger and nothing happens. It then goes off on his friend and that’s when the cops pull up. When they do, they attack the injured one without the gun. As the taller one tries to make an escape, he ends up getting hit by a car. This almost feels like I was watching a reenactment of what a real-life gas station robbery looks like. I think this one is the best because all the other ones are kind of random and there is no real-life connection to it. Fired on Mars and Fear of Flying does a good job of showing a real-life connection. The last short film that was shown was just weird and felt like it had no meaning to it. In the first short film, Fired on Mars, it tells the story of what it feels like to lose everything you have and how it can affect you mentally and physically. In Fear of Flying, it shows that a bird is afraid of flying and ends up taking a plane to the south. He was nervous about getting on the plane, which is how most people feel about taking planes for the first time. Other than that, Deupsi is the winner for me because it shows a real-life scenario that we see in videos and maybe even in person. The creators make it into a funny animated clip that shows how robbers tend to not be prepared and make dumb choices.
